UK Government; The Widening Participation Fund – 29 October 2021

More than £1 million in Government funding has been made available for creative and innovative pilot projects which will help children and teenagers learn how to ride a bike.

The Widening Participation Fund, administered by the Bikeability Trust, will support projects that target underrepresented children in England who do not take part in Bikeability. The Fund aims to identify those children, look at the barriers to uptake, and seek ways to resolve these.

Particular focus will be given to lower uptake in areas of deprivation, and amongst specific ethnic backgrounds and female teenagers.

The Trust is welcoming bids of up to £75,000 from current Bikeability training providers and any organisation that can increase participation.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on the 29th October 2021.
