Funding to Improve the Condition of Further Education Colleges Buildings & Estates – 15th March 2021 (England)

The Department for Education has announced that Further Education colleges and designated institutions in England can now bid for capital funding from the Further Education Capital Transformation Fund to improve the condition of their estate and buildings.

The bidding process will be split across two stages:

  • the first will be a preliminary stage for an initial assessment of funding requests and how condition need will be addressed by project proposals;
  • the second stage will require detailed submissions to look at project plans, costings and affordability, and the project’s deliverability.

The minimum threshold for projects is £500,000 with no upper threshold, but FE colleges will be expected to contribute up to 50% of their project costs.

The deadline for stage one applications is 11.59pm on the 15th March 2021.
