Ofwat has launched a £2 million Innovation in Water Challenge to encourage new the water sector to work with partner organisation to address the needs of society and the environment and meet many of the challenges the sector faces.
Partners can include partners within or outside the water sector, for example energy, manufacturing, health or financial services.
The challenge is the first of two competitions being run this year within Ofwat’s £200 million Innovation Fund to innovative ideas that water companies would otherwise be unable to invest in or explore, and is looking for all types of projects. These can relate to technology, culture, business practices, commercial models etc.
Water companies from England and Wales together with their partner organisations (which can be from any sector) could win between £50,000 to £250,000 to support, kick-start, grow or scale their initiatives. Entries must include a minimum 10% financial contribution.
The deadline for applications is 12pm on the 26th February 2021.
