The CHCP Foundation’s objective is to promote and support health and wellbeing within the communities in which the City Health Care Partnership (CHCP) delivers services by innovating, inspiring, involving and investing in its staff, services and the community. The Foundation is run by volunteer staff trustees and awards small grants to voluntary and community groups who are working to improve health and wellbeing in their areas.
The Small grants programme will provide grants or donations of up to £1,000 to carry out activities, projects or one-off events requiring an element of sponsorship.
Grants or donations are made to local voluntary and community organisations, schools and/or other not-for-profit organisations.
Example activities include dance, drama or football clubs, a health or wellbeing learning activity or event. Activities need to be led by volunteers. Grants will not cover 100% of project costs so some match funding will be required.
Previous projects funded include:
- A grant of £1000 helped a Hull cycling club to coach children to be safe, competent cyclists.
- Friends of Bilton School, East Yorkshire: A grant towards a new outdoor learning classroom so the children are able to study the local, natural environment and create a mud kitchen, fire pit and a wildlife investigation area.
- Brandesburton Scout Group: A grant to help the group to introduce a new and varied programme of indoor and outdoor physical activities for all ages.
