The Big Lottery Fund has announced that its new Digital Fund will open for applications on the 22nd October 2018. A total of £15 million will be made available to help the charity and voluntary sector use digital tools and approaches to support people and communities.
The Digital Fund will initially be offering two strands of funding.
Digital Fund Strand 1 will offer grants of up to £500,000 and a tailored support package. The aim is to help established charities use digital to take a major leap forward. Grants to last from 1 to 4 years. To be eligible the applicant organisation must have an income over £500,000 per year.
Digital Fund Strand 2 offers grants of up to £500,000 for newer organisations that have already launched promising services that use digital to achieve scale or impact. Grants to last from 1 to 4 years. To be eligible the applicant organisation must have been incorporated after the year 2000.
The funding from both Strand 1 and 2 can be used for:
- staff salaries
- project activities
- running costs
- small-scale refurbishment
- organisational development
The closing date for applications will be the 3rd December 2018. There will be further funding opportunities in 2019.
