The Hospital Saturday Fund is a registered charity whose aims are to provide assistance for medical projects, capital projects, medical care or research, hospice/respite care and in support of medical training. Applications for running costs will also be considered. For UK NHS hospitals, applications will normally be accepted for projects only. The fund also provides large grants of up to £10,000 towards specific projects, research or equipment.
Eligible organisations will need to be registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, HM Revenue & Customs, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man General Registry, the appropriate regulatory body in the Channel Islands or the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland.
The deadline for applications to the large grants programme is the 18th June 2018.
The next deadlines for applications to the standard (small) grants programme are the 23rd April or the 16th July 2018.
Projects funded in 2018 include the following projects in Northern Ireland:
- Chronic Pain Ireland – a donation to help support vital workshops on pain self-management techniques.
- Cystic Fibrosis – a grant towards their independent living
- Fighting Blindness – a grant to purchase a RetCam scanner machine
