UK registered charities and Community Interest Companies with a focus on children’s or cancer-related activities, services or operations can apply to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal for grants of between £250 and £10,000.
To be eligible organisations applying must have had at least two years of activity and be able to submit their latest annual accounts.
The funding is available to support both capital and revenue costs and can be for both specific projects and general running/core costs of the applicant organisation.
Grants are awarded twice a year and are usually one-off awards although occasionally multi year awards are made.
In 2016, grants were made to over 40 organisations including:
- The Laila Milly Foundation to help families who have a child up to the age of 5 with serious or complex health needs or a life limiting condition to attend the day centre (£10,000)
- One in a Million, a Bradford based charity that engages predominantly with disadvantaged children and young people (£6,900)
- Candlelighters, a children’s cancer support organisation (£6,983).
Applications for the April 2018 round should be submitted by 10am on Monday 19th March.
