The next closing date for applications to the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust – Power and Accountability (UK) is 9th April 2018.
The funding is available to support projects that challenge how power is concentrated, shared and used and how it is changing through globalisation, new technology, new channels of communication, extreme inequality and other factors. Specifically, the Trust wants to support people to create a world in which power is more equally shared, and in which powerful institutions are responsive and accountable to wider society and aligned with the long-term public interest.
Applications should address the following:
- Strengthening corporate accountability
- Strengthening democratic accountability
- Encouraging responsible media.
Projects can be UK-based or can be pan-European.
