To apply to the Heritage Lottery Fund’s (HLF) First World War:Then and Now grants programme under the current arrangements bids should be submitted by the 18th January 2018.
Grants of £3,000-£10,000 are available for projects that help communities to understand more about the First World War and the impact the conflict had on local communities. Schools and colleges, Registered Charities and trusts, community and voluntary groups, community/Parish councils, Community Interest Companies, local authorities, public sector organisations such as museums and social enterprises are all eligible to apply. This programme has a short application form suitable for everyone including first-time applicants and will fund projects that make a real difference for heritage, people and communities.
Funded projects will result in a wider range of people engaged with Heritage through activities and events such as:
- World War project where young people from North Tyneside found out through a range of activities how their communities were affected by the First World War.
- The restoration of B-type Battle Buses in Walthamstow by the London Transport Museum to be used as part of their outreach activities.
