The GLL Community Foundation, which is a charitable social enterprise that manages 258 leisure centres, libraries and other community services across England, has announced that it is offering up to £5,000 cash and £5,000 worth of in kind support to community projects in areas where GLL operates.
Projects could include:
- Organising a sports tournament or improving a community library
- Creating a new sports league
- Revamping a children’s playground, etc.
The help of GLL Qualified Instructors & Coaches and other specialist expertise to help develop or deliver project ideas is also available plus the use of facilities, free activities (e.g. Swimming), monthly membership discounts and internal training places.
Previous projects supported include:
A community garden in Lambeth, a soap box race in York, a kids’ pizzeria and adventure playground in Tower Hamlets and an activity fun day aimed to be inclusive for the visually impaired in Islington.
