Farmers, foresters and landowners are being encouraged to plan ahead for the next round of funding for woodland creation, which opens for applications in two months.
The Woodland Creation Grant scheme is open to all land managers. Successful applicants will receive a two-year capital grant of up to £6,800 per hectare to plant and protect more trees. The aim is to help landowners make the most of their land and reap the benefits of woodland creation. Successful applicants may also have the opportunity to apply for annual maintenance payments of £200 per hectare for ten years.
The Scheme opens on the 2nd January 2018.
