UK-Based businesses or Research and Technology Organisations are invited to apply for funding through the Innovative UK’s Innovation in Health and Life Sciences initiative. Innovate UK is the UK’s Innovation Agency and supports businesses in realising the potential of new technologies, develop ideas and make them a commercial success.
Through this funding round up to £15 million of funding is available for innovation projects that address challenges in health and life sciences (H&LS) that lead to increased agri-food productivity, quality and sustainability or improved healthcare outcomes. Funding is available for projects that show innovation in one of the following priority areas:
- Increasing agricultural productivity
- Improving food quality and sustainability
- Advanced therapies (cell and gene therapies)
- Precision medicine
- Medicines discovery
- Preclinical technologies
- Advanced biosciences.
Projects should have a total cost of between £50,000 and £2 million, with up to 70% of project costs available depending on the project category and size of the business. All projects must involve at least one SME and a business must lead the project.
The closing date for applications is the 6th December 2017.
