Churches and Christian community groups that wish to tackle poverty in England’s most deprived communities can apply for grants of up to £5,000 through the Church Urban Fund’s “Together Grants Programme”.
The Church Urban Fund is especially interested in funding projects that tackle the underlying causes of poverty. Applicants:
- Should be faith based organisations
- Should be directly tackling poverty
- Should work in partnership with one other organisations (does not have to be faith based)
- The activity must have a local focus, being based locally with community involvement in identifying needs, initiating responses and running the project.
Applications to fund short term activities such as one-off events or initiatives that only meet people’s immediate needs are considered low priority. Applications can be submitted at any time.
