Funding for Projects that use Rugby to Tackle Social Challenges – 2nd October 2017 (England)

Charities, not-for-profit organisations and rugby clubs across England that use Rugby to tackle a number of social challenges will be able to apply for grants of up to £100,000 for projects lasting 2 – 3 years.

The funding is being provided by England Rugby and distributed by Comic Relief through the Try for Change Fund large grants programme. This follows the launch last year of the Try for Change Fund small grants programme. Priority will be given to projects which target the most vulnerable and marginalised groups. Successful projects will need to work towards at least one of the following outcomes:

  • Increase community cohesion/ social integration
  • Improve educational attainment; Increase employability
  • Reduce involvement in gangs and reduce the risk of re-offending
  • Improve mental and physical health.

The fund will open for applications on the 4th September and close for applications on the 2nd of October 2017.
