Active Ageing: Creating Change in Communities – 29th August 2017 (UK)

Comic Relief has launched a £1.5 million fund to engage older people aged 65 and over in volunteering.

Between 15-25 grants will be awarded to projects that specifically target older people who don’t usually participate in volunteering or social activities because they are from a disadvantaged community, or face other barriers to participating. Grants of between £40,000 and £80,000 for up to three years work will be made to registered organisations based in the community in which they are already working with older people (including those working with national or regional partners). Partnership applications are also welcomed. The activities planned must have positive benefits for older people, providing them with meaningful roles for social interaction and leadership and recognising and valuing their contributions. Eligible additional support costs can include, for example, the provision of accessible transport.

The programme is open for proposals until midday 29 August 2017.
