The Department for International Development has launched a new challenge fund designed to strengthen grassroots organisations working with the poor, vulnerable and most marginalised in the lowest 50 countries in the UN Human Development Index (HDI) or in certain countries that DFID considers to be of high or moderate fragility.
Small not-for-profit organisations with annual incomes of less than £250,000 registered in the UK can apply for funds to scale-up and increase the reach and efficiency of their projects. Grants of up to £50,000 will be available for projects of up to 2 years. There is a one-stage application process and this funding round will stay open with applications reviewed on a 6-monthly basis.
The closing date for the first review of proposals will be the 30th September 2017.
