The next funding round of the Coastal Communities Fund (CCF) is expected to commence in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in late 2017.
Details regarding future funding in Scotland are still to be advised. The CCF encourages the economic development of UK coastal communities by giving funding to create sustainable economic growth and jobs. The CCF will be extended to 2021 with at least £90m of new funding available for the period 2017/18 to 2020/21. Private sector companies, voluntary organisations, local authorities, social enterprises and development agencies are amongst the organisations eligible to apply.
In 2016, the South West Coastal Path Association received £1,146,864 to improve and promote the Path and the RSPB received £267,843 to further develop tourism at South Stack drifts, Anglesey.
Grant levels differ between regions and are typically between £20,000 and £2million.
Full application guidelines will be published on the website when the programme opens.
