The Youth Mental Health First Aid skills programme is a three-year programme that runs until 2020.
Under the programme every secondary school is entitled to one free place on Youth MHFA one-day course with a value of £200 per person trained. In 2017 the programme aims to train a member of staff in over 1000 secondary schools giving them the skills to spot the signs of mental health issues in young people and guide them to a place of support. By the end of 2020 every secondary school in England will have been offered the opportunity to attend this training. Schools that are willing to host one of the first 100 training courses will be offered up to four additional places per course. Please register your interest by emailing schools@mhfaengland.org telling Mental Health First Aid where in England the school is located.
