Following an evaluation of the successful first round, Comic Relief has announced that the second round of the Care Home Challenge Fund is now open.
The Fund supports the delivery of activities that improve the wellbeing of care home residents and help staff and residents forge stronger relationships. Charity and non-charity UK-based registered care home providers are invited to apply for grants of £10,000 – £20,000. It is anticipated that up to 20 projects lasting for between 18-24 months (including time for planning, partnership building and delivery) will be supported. Initial proposals will be shortlisted with the strongest proposals going forward for full assessment.
As the initiative sits under Comic Reliefs ‘Health and Wellbeing’ programme area, strong proposals will demonstrate how they will encourage physical or mental activity, movement and increased mobility, social connections and engagement for residents.
Full eligibility details, application guidance and the findings from Round One are available on the website. Round Two closes at midday, 4th August 2017.
