The Co-op local cause scheme is now open for applications from small, local organisations (with incomes of less that £1 million per year) for projects that will benefit their communities and do not have a religious or political aim. Registered charities, small charities registered with HMRC for tax, registered community amateur sports clubs, churches that are ‘excepted’ charities and Scout/ Guide groups are eligible to apply. A postcode checker on the website indicates how much money is available and how many projects are likely to be supported in particular local areas.
Previous projects funded include:
Meanwood Valley Urban Farm to continue educational work with school children and disabled people in Leeds.
Starter Packs Glasgow to provide everyday essentials for people starting to live independently and a contribution to the new station for Southport Lifeboats.
The deadline for applications in this round is 8th August 2017.
