Higher Education Funding Council Launches Competition to set up an Institute of Coding (England) (Deadline: Friday 7th July 2017)

The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) have announced a £20m funding competition to establish an institute to serve as a national focus for improving digital skills provision at Level 6 and 7.

The competition will support the setting up of one Institute of Coding with the aim of improving identified digital skills needs. HEFCE-funded higher education institutions with existing course provision in computer science or information technology can apply as the lead partner in conjunction with a consortium of industry partner(s). Other partners may include other higher education providers of all kinds, other employers, professional bodies or other stakeholders.

The deadline for applications is noon on Friday 7th July 2017.
