£35 Million Boost for Ultra-Low Emission Vehicles (UK)

The Department for Transport has announced a major £35million funding package designed to boost the uptake of ultra-low emission cars, taxis and scooters.

This funding includes:

  • Help for councils to roll out chargepoints for ultra-low emission taxis
  • Funding for chargepoints outside workplaces and at homes where there is no off street parking
  • Funding to encourage the uptake of zero emission motorcycles and scooters
  • Funding for public and private sector organisations to deploy hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

A £7.5 million workplace charging scheme is due to be launched this autumn, which will be open to eligible private and public sector workplaces in the UK to support the installation of charging infrastructure for their staff and fleet use.
