The next deadline for apply for grants from the National Manuscript Conservation Trust (NMCT) is 1st April 2017.
The NMCT helps preserve important manuscript and archive collections by awarding grants for their conservation. Record offices, libraries and other similar publicly funded institutions including local authority, university and specialist record repositories are eligible for grants. Private owners can also qualify if they meet a range of criteria. Applications can be made for a grant to conserve one item or a whole collection and the grants can cover the cost of the conservator’s time, conservation materials and digitisation if it is part of the conservation project. The majority of grants awarded fall between £2,000 and £10,000 and projects with other funding in place are usually prioritised.
