Additional £1.5m for the Near Neighbours Fund (England)

The Near Neighbours small grants programme will reopen to applications in spring/early summer 2016 following an additional £1.5m investment from the UK Government.

Using the infrastructure of the Church of England, the Near Neighbours funding programme provides small grants and support to grassroots groups to help them run projects that bring about lasting benefits to neighbourhoods with significant religious diversity. The idea is to bring people together that are religiously and ethnically diverse, so that they can get to know each other better, build relationships of trust and collaborate together on initiatives that improve the local community they live in. The funding covers a broad range of activities across the arts, the environment and sport.
