The Paul Hamlyn Foundation is creating a new fund specifically focused on helping teachers develop their skills in supporting learning in and through the arts in UK schools. Following research carried out last year, the Foundation will use the fund to run five pilot projects and is now inviting selected schools/organisations/partnerships who attended the pre-launch events to submit bids to run a pilot. The aim is to build teachers’ skills, knowledge, confidence and interconnectedness to maximise the impact of arts for young people. The focus is on school-based projects with an emphasis on: primary schools; working with disadvantaged and/or vulnerable children; and supporting professional development and learning via evidence-informed approaches.
