The British Council has announced that the application deadline for its Chinese language and culture summer school has been extended to the 18th March 2018.
Funded through the HSBC bank Global Education Programme and managed by the British Council the summer school offers an opportunity for primary school children (to Year 5) in England and Wales to learn Mandarin Chinese and experience some of China’s rich culture. There is no cost to participating schools or students as all of the costs of the course are covered by HSBC. This includes:
- All meals
- Cultural activities.
The only cost that will need to be met by the local authorities or schools is transport for the students and their accompanying teacher(s) to and from the course location. There are 100 places available in total. Students may attend the course in one of two locations in England.
